With listings already appearing to confirm that Lensrentals will be carrying most of these, I'm disappointed not to see the M[10] included.

Like you, I lack the eldrich magic necessary to focus a rangefinder, and I think the M[10] is going to be a huge hit for live view alone.

I bet it'll rent way better than the M9 or even the didn't-lower-the-price-enough M-E.

Once again, your write up gives an informative, personal view on things that isn't afraid to show that it is a personal view.

You did leave out the one item I thought was the highlight of the show, the Alpa FPS. Not that it will ever sell in the millions, or likely even a thousand, but as a wonderful execution of a useful photographic concept it stands alone at this Photokina:

The body cap is awesome and a total impulse buy of the year, now if it comes with its own lens cap which also double as a lens...

Tried out the Body Cap Lens at Photokina today: it's definitely a must have! The guy next to me thought it really was just a body cap. I had to take a picture to prove it was a lens. The photo was lousy, cause I forgot I had the ISO on 200, not Auto, but he was astonished ...

Now I need to buy a used PMx or PLx to put it on for use as my second body cum street camera.

Hi Roger!

In the broader ecosystem of cameras there was also pro-body announcements by Phase One, Hasselblad, Cambo, and Arca Swiss, and DFW.

- A revised DF body with AF micro-adjust and better durability
- New and updated tech camera bodies (architecture, interior, landscape) from Cambo and Arca Swiss
- The H5D, a minor update to Hassy's pro line of cameras
- A prototype Leaf Credo for the Hy6 platform
- A revision to the Hy6 body dubbed Hy6mod2

We have details of most of those on our blog

you should be renting out all µ43 cameras with the new bodycaplens. ;)
for the older systems there is a similar piece of equipment produced by Loreo. not quite the optical marvel, but can be fun. although the bodies it can be used on are too big to make it really useful. the olympus µ43 version.. much more.
