I’m glad you posted that – I had actually planned to include her and the article got interrupted by a family emergency (I accidently hit ‘publish’ rather than ‘save’ when I got the phone call) so this was really the first draft of the first half of the article. I’ll do the second half some other time. There are a couple of interesting letters from F. O. to Chansonetta where he was getting rather irritated that despite her success she still required a monthly support stipend because she refused to do any portraits or other commercial work. The old boy got rather fed up with her.
