Largest Inventory

We have the largest stock of anyone in the business, with over 2,500 lenses, 120 camera bodies and hundreds of accessories in circulation. We have more lenses, and more copies of each lens. What does this mean to you?

Better Selection

Having more things to choose from means you’re able to pick the right tool for the job. For example, why get the 70-200 f/2.8L IS if you’re planning on using fast shutter speeds? The non-IS version is both sharper and cheaper. Wait, you’re backpacking? Take the f/4 version, it’s half the weight, or the f/4 IS, which is similarly light but includes weather sealing and image stabilization. They each have their pros and cons, which is why we carry all of them.

We go out of our way to stock unusual lenses. If it’s super-long, super-wide, or super-fast, odds are we’ve got it. Tilt-shift? Check. Perspective-control? Uh huh. Macro-only? No problem.

We also carry a wide variety of equipment that you might need for a special occasion. From spotting scopes to studio strobes, we have something for most any need. Check out our Accessories pages for more information.

Better Depth

Simply put, having more copies of each item allows us to serve you better. Regardless of what you’re looking to rent, we can fill most orders in a matter of days, simply because we have so much equipment moving around.

Also consider that for a rental business, every item sitting on the shelf is money that’s not being made. A smaller company, with only three or four copies of each lens, must try to rent everything out, and line up customers to rent the lens as soon as it comes back. Keeping one of their 4 copies of a lens as a backup means 25% of their inventory isn’t renting.

We work differently. Keeping an extra copy or two of a popular lens on the shelf isn’t a deal-breaker economically since we’ve got dozens of copies of every popular lens. (For example, we have 113 copies of the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS in circulation.) Keeping a back up copy for emergencies can be a lifesaver at times:

  • Sometimes you realize you need something right now. We know, we’ve been there. The good news is that we’ve probably got what you want, ready to go.
  • Sometimes things break. It happens, generally when it’s least convenient for you. Odds are, we’ve got another one in stock, and we’ll get a suitable replacement to you immediately.
  • Sometimes other renters are late. This also happens, generally when it’s least convenient for us. Extra stock means we’ll still be able to fill all our reservations, instead of putting any of our customers in a hard place.

We try very hard to have every item in stock for immediate delivery . We’re adding plenty of new inventory every month trying to make this happen.

More Experience

As of January, 2010, we have shipped 63,000 items in 38,000 orders for 19,000 different customers. We know what can go wrong, and what to do to prevent it. From handling lost shipments, to knowing what kind of problems certain cameras or lenses are likely to have, to suggesting what items will get you the kind of shots you want, we’ve “been there, done that”. And being a full time business with a staff, we’re in the office to answer your phone calls all day on weekdays, and we answer emails every day after hours too.
