Sennheiser Evolution G3 100 Wireless

The Sennheiser EW100ENG3 Wireless Combo System includes the EK100G3 camera mount receiver, SK100G3 bodypack transmitter, ME2 lavalier microphone and SKP100G3 plug-in transmitter.

I know what you’re thinking: “Roger, what’s the difference between, this and the G2?” Well, children, gather round and Uncle Roger will explain it to you: The G3 system features 1680 tunable frequencies, because sometimes the 1420 tunable frequencies of the G2 just isn’t enough. But wait, there’s more! With the G3 you have 12 frequency presets instead of 4 like the old version. If that doesn’t want to make you upgrade, I don’t know what will. OK, reality is they don’t make the G2 anymore.

Mike’s Take:
This is a versatile wireless kit that offers flexibility for many uses, great for situations when the use of hard-wired mics might be problematic. They have a great battery life, and with the plug-in transmitter are usable with almost any microphone (or sound console). I love how the receiver pack fits on a hotshoe and can output (with different cables) to XLR or 3.5mm, the huge multi channel frequency range is also very satisfying.
