Called “the streetsweeper”, this is Canon’s widest range L-quality zoom. Quite sharp at all focal lengths with a good Image Stabilization system. It is used when the photographer needs a one-lens solution— when it’s inconvenient to carry multiple lenses or conditions make changing lenses difficult. It’s a large lens, similar in size to the 100-400mm or 70-200 f/2.8 lenses. It is also a telescoping zoom lens, like the 100-400mm.
Note: we have found that few people are using the tripod ring with this lens, they generally take it off the first day of rental. Because of this, we do NOT ship the tripod ring with the lens unless you request it in the special instructions box when you order.
