Sigma 150mm f2.8 Macro OS

The predecessor to this lens was probably our favorite Macro: superbly sharp, great working distance, and just a super Macro lens that was also an excellent mid-range telephoto lens. The 150mm range allows more working distance when shooting Macro. The new OS system adds about 3 stops of image stabilization, allowing it to be used without a tripod for a lot of macro work.
As with all new OS lenses, the optical formula has been changed a bit, and the lens is a bit larger and heavier. Is it as sharp and reliable as the original version? We don’t know yet, which is why we still stock both.
