Canon’s new ultra wide angle rectilinear lens. The lens has completely redesigned optics and reports indicate that it’s MUCH sharper than the old version (which we were not too impressed with), with less chromatic aberration. With a 114° field of view and low distortion, this lens is ideal for architectural photography.

Roger’s take: We were never fans of the Mark I version of this lens. In fact, we preferred the Sigma straight up and that’s what we stocked until now. The Mark II is a different beast entirely: very sharp, very little distortion, a really excellent lens. Pricey, but then there’s really nothing else this wide and this sharp for Canon shooters.
