This is a nicely priced wide aperture prime lens that provides a nice alternative to the large expensive L primes. It’s small enough to slip into a pocket, works perfectly well on a full-frame camera, and can focus as close as 9 inches.

This is really a nice little lens, similar in quality (both build and image) to the Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens. It’s pretty sharp wide open, especially in the center, and makes a nice indoor lens for family gatherings and portraits. The corners are never going to be sharp on a full-frame camera, and it vignettes in the corners to f/5.6 or so on a full frame. It is simply a low cost, wide aperture lens, small enough to not block even a pop-up flash.
