The Olympus 45 mm f/1.8 gives m4/3 users a short telephoto option. With an equivalent focal length of 90mm in 35mm terms gives users a great portrait length lens. Its fast, f1.8 maximum aperture produces images with a beautiful shallow depth of field and is wonderful in low-light situations. This Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) lens has ultra-fast, near-silent autofocus for shooting stills and video. The lens was designed using two extra-high refractive elements giving excellent contrast and sharpness in stills and video, with chromatic aberration, ghosting and flare eliminated.

If a portrait lens is what you seek, look no further than this little guy. It’s f1.8 aperture and short telephoto length allow for great background separation which is a must for portrait work. It has a very fast and almost silent AF motor that won’t hold you up. If you need a fast, short tele, here it is.
