 Let us be clear: we don’t like UV filters. We’re convinced they degrade image quality, and equally convinced they offer minimal protection against damage. In general, we think camera stores (who often make more on the filter than on the lens) created the “protect your lens” myth (more detail here) The exceptions: working in conditions with blowing sand or salt spray, and the Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS lens, which needs it to prevent dust getting in the barrel. However, if you’d like a UV filter on your rental lens we’re happy to add it. We do not rent UV filters other than mounted to our rental lenses. We stock UV filters in the following sizes:
