This wide-angle pancake lens has a focal length (equivalent to 34mm on a 35mm camera) for shooting everything from street to landscapes to close up portraits. A slim design, with an overall length of just 22.5mm, ensures the camera remains compact and easy to carry even when the lens is mounted. The pancake is a perfect compliment to the Olympus EP-2 or similar Panasonic Micro 4/3 cameras.

Tim’s Take: The Olympus 17mm is a 34mm equivalent pancake lens that is great for walk-around or street photography. While it’s build quality is by no means pro level, the image quality is still quite good. While it does leave me desiring a bit more contrast in the images, it definitely gives your micro 4/3 camera a truly pocketable feeling. Also keep in mind corner sharpness is not really going to happen with this little guy. Despite it’s cons, I would still use this pancake over any of the m4/3 kit lenses!
