![]() The Zeiss 21 Biogon offers a very wide angle lens with reasonably fast aperture at a reasonable price. Well compared to some other wide angle options its quite reasonable. Its quite popular for landscapes. It has 10 aperture blades yielding nice, smooth out-of-focus highlights. Zeiss M-mount lenses do not come with a lens hood Roger’s take: In this focal length I think the Zeiss is a superb value: as sharp as you could dream, very well made. The aperture ring adjusts very distinctly by feel and the focusing ring is quite smooth. Like all of the Zeiss 21mm lenses there is a bit of “moustache” distortion which shows up annoyingly in some architectural photos, but the Leica 21mm has a similar pattern. Honestly, for the price difference I’d go with the Zeiss.
