Mic - Shure SM93 Lavalier
The Shure SM93 is a wired omni-directional lavalier microphone.
It provides a simple solution for recording interviews without needing to work with wireless systems. It requires phantom power and comes with a tie clip assembly and a 25 foot XLR cable. A foam windscreen is also included.
Frequency response is 80 to 20,000 Hz. The SM93 also features a 12 dB/octave rolloff below 100 Hz, which minimizes clothing rustling or other noises from mic placement.
Make sure your camcorder/ audio adapter supplies phantom power, otherwise this microphone will not work for you.
Mike’s Take: Lavalier’s are the mic for interviews, and this is a great place to start. Good sound quality in a small, convenient package. Easy to use, and with a 25ft XLR, you can get it to your camera without wireless.
