This is the 120GB SSD version. Memory cards not included
The HyperDrive Colorspace UDMA2 is portable storage device that’s ideal for on-the-go backup of photos. It has both SD and CF memory card inputs, with transfer speeds from memory card to device of 27MB/s. The UDMA 2 recognizes both JPEG and RAW files from nearly every camera manufacturer, with the ability to view the photos on its 3.5" color LCD. It also includes file management tools for renaming and organizing files into folders
The UDMA2 offers a couple other features that make it very unique. First is the ability to access copied data on the UDMA2 via Wi-Fi connected devices such as iPad, iPhone, Android, or computer through an FTP client using the included Wireless Adapter. Not only can you view images from the device, but you’re also able to copy files to your Wi-Fi connected device. The Wireless Adapter itself defaults to an ad-hoc setup, meaning it creates its own wireless network so an internet connection is not required. It can also be set to an Infrastructure mode for connecting to an existing wireless network, allowing you to stay connected to the internet while accessing the device.
The second notable feature is a photo recovery option. This allows you to recover images from an accidently deleted / formatted memory card. We can confirm this recovery option works quite well. However, we don’t suggest deleting a card of needed images just to see for yourself.
While most other portable storage devices use spinning hard drives to store copied data, we are renting the HyperDrive Colorspace UDMA2 with a 120GB SSD drive. This allows for a much more secure storage option, as there’s no spinning disc in a SSD as there is a hard drive. Basically, SSD drives have a much lower failure rate than a hard drive, so you’ll have one less thing to worry about on your trip.
