Micro 4/3 camera to Canon EF Lens(w/aperture)

Available Today

This adapter lets you use any Canon EOS mount lens with a Micro 4/3 mount camera. More importantly, it has a built-in mechanical aperture ring, so that you can “control aperture”. However, be aware what you’re changing is an aperture ring that’s built into the adapter itself. In some cases, it causes vignetting if “stopped down” too much.

This adapter provides no electronic communication between the camera and lens. All focus adjustments must be made manually on the lens itself. There is no ability to change the internal aperture of the lens, it will not be displayed on the camera, and it will not show up in the EXIF data.

Notable Points:

  • This adapter will NOT work with the Canon 85mm f/1.2 or 50mm f/1.0 lenses since those are electronic focus. They will not focus when mounted to the adapter. Canon EF-S Lenses will not fit on it, but third party EF-S lenses work fine.
  • Not recommended for use with the Olympus OM-D E-M1. It scratches the overhang above the lens mount. If you use this adapter on your own camera and scratch it, understand we will not be held responsible.

I’m actually pretty impressed. The aperture ring built into this adapter is of extremely high quality with 14 blades and a completely round opening. It’s actually a better aperture ring than those built in the Canon lenses, and it’s very smooth to operate. On the other hand, it’s completely exposed since there is no glass in the adapter. Therefore, it will require a bit of care.

We find this adapter works very well with Zeiss ZE mount lenses and most Canon primes. It can cause vignetting with some of the zoom lenses, though.
