Nikon D3x

In Stock

Nikon D3x

The flagship Nikon camera: the D3x packs 24.5 megapixels in a full-frame sensor and can capture up to 5 full size frames per second. ISO range from 100 to 1600 in standard shooting mode, with extended ISO to 6400. Otherwise it has all the features of the D3 model: 51 point autofocus (including 3D Focus Tracking), 3 inch VGA LCD monitor, 100% viewfinder coverage, dual CF card slots. The D3x also has two Live View shooting modes, including up to 27X magnification for accurate manual focusing.

Roger’s take: Lets face it folks: this one is all about the resolution. It is the ‘Mongo’ of SLRs, big, bad, and riding to its shoot on a Brahma Bull not even noticing the lesser cameras fleeing from its path. Either you need it or you don’t. If you need to make big prints, want to crop the center 50% and still make a good sized print (say 11×14) this is THE camera. And DXO says its the highest resolution sensor on the market. If you want a pro quality camera with higher ISO availability and don’t need the resolution, then the D3s is the better choice. And don’t confuse yourselves: Nikon is amazing, but they haven’t managed to negate the laws of physics. You can’t put twice as many pixels on the sensor and keep ISO 6400 performance the same.

One other point, this sensor exposes every single flaw in a lens. Run along, little variable-aperture superzoom. You’ll just embarrass yourself on this camera. Mongo like f/2.8 Nikon zoom. Mongo like Zeiss prime. Mongo not go outside with 70-300 Sigma, other cameras laugh at Mongo for that.

PLEASE NOTE: because of copyright regulations we cannot send the Nikon software with the camera.
