Sigma 150mm f/2.8 Macro for Nikon

Sigma 150mm f/2.8 Macro for Nikon

An extremely sharp telephoto-macro lens with true 1:1 magnification for Macro shots, it also is an excellent midrange telephoto lens. The 150mm range allows more working distance when shooting Macro than the 105mm Nikkor Micro lens. At the same time the lens is light enough to handhold (although a tripod is recommended for close macro work). One of our most popular Macro lenses and one we recommend highly.

Roger’s take: Personally, I love the working distance you get with this lens and the images it produces. Autofocus can be described as “leisurely at best” but that’s really not an issue with a Macro lens. I find it works best if I manually focus to the vicinity of the subject, then turn on autofocus if I want to (although generally I don’t). Its small enough to carry around and shoot handheld, but has a tripod mount in case you want to get steadier shots or shoot it from rails. A great lens!
