Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP AF Di Macro for Nikon

Available Today

The Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP Macro is a great option for users looking for a simple to use, 1:1 true macro lens. With it’s focus limit switch, it also doubles as a high quality portrait lens. Being one of Tamron’s SP-series lenses, it resolves extreme detail with great sharpness and smooth background blur. It features multiple coatings that help to minimize reflections and aberrations. It’s quick-clutch manual focus ring design makes switching between auto and manual focus quite easy. Add being the smallest and lightest weight medium-length 1:1 macro lens, and you’ve got a lens that you’ll never have to leave behind.

Please Note: This is the 272E model, which means it does have a built-in AF motor for compatibility with cameras like the Nikon D3200 and D5100.

Personally, I prefer some Vibration Control with my ‘around 100mm’ Macro lenses, because I like to shoot hand-held when possible. But if you’re working on a tripod that’s not necessary and this is an excellent bargain of a macro lens. It has the old ‘micro’ motor, so it’s a bit buzzy and autofocus is a bit slow, but it’s a very sharp macro lens (better wide open than the Sigma alternatives, although that evens out by f/4) at a very good price.
