![]() Note: This is a Legacy lens, meaning we continue to stock it even though it’s out of production because of continued demand, largely for video use. Because it is a Legacy Item, many of our copies have exceeded the “two years old or less” rule we have. If you are using the lens for photography we strongly recommend using the Nikon 24-70 f2.8 instead. A superbly sharp standard range zoom with fast f/2.8 aperture for low-light shooting and wonderful bokeh, and ED and aspheric elements to reduce chromatic abberation and distortion. Roger’s take: Reviewers rave about the new 24-70 f/2.8. The 28-70 is just as sharp, smaller, and lighter. I’ll grant that the 24-70 is better from 24 to 28 but other than that I can’t see the difference. This was a classic, excellent midrange lens before the 24-70 was introduced. Now its a classic, excellent midrange zoom lens that nobody rents much. But we’re keeping some in stock because I really prefer its size compared to the new one, and well, everybody has 24 to 28 mm covered with another lens anyway. Specs:
