![]() For DX sensor cameras (D300, D90, D40, etc…) the 35 f/1.8 provides a very sharp, wide-aperture prime lens with built-in silent wave motor for fast autofocus. It provides a small (pocketable) lens for portrait and mid-range shooting even in low light situations. Roger’s Take: There’s a reason this one is often difficult to find—-its just that good. Nikon has broken new ground here, putting world-class wide-aperture prime lens in DX mount. Its as sharp as it should be, small enough to fit in your pocket (unless your pants are really tight), and a great focal length. I’m still not sure how Nikon did it at this price, that’s just amazing. I’ll be honest, if you can find it for sale at list price, just buy it, don’t rent it.
