Panasonic/Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4
The Summilux 25mm f1.4 is designed by Leica for 4/3 cameras. In addition to its ultra-wide aperture it features an aspherical element and multiple layer coatings to prevent chromatic aberration, has a 7 blade circular aperture design to promote smooth out of focus highlights, and can be used on all 4/3 cameras. It is quite sharp even wide open.
Tim’s Take:
If you are looking for a very fast, standard lens for 4/3, this is it. It has fantastic background blur, which can be hard to come by with 4/3. Images are sharp and have nice contrast. My only con with this lens is it’s focus. It is not the fastest on the block. If you fire before it is ready, you will get a soft image. Otherwise, this lens will give you results that are unseen with other 4/3 lenses.
