Ring Flash Adapter for Nikon SB800 - DX
The Ray Ring Flash adapter is an alternative to a stand alone ring flash. It attaches to a shoe mounted flash and using internal prisms and light shapers projects the light evenly from the ring around the lens. It provides the shadowless central lighting on the subject, like a true ringflash, but has the advantage of maintaining the TTL functions of the original shoe mounted flash.
This model fits only the Nikon SB800 flash on Nikon DX sensor cameras only!
Roger’s take: This is a useful tool, but for those of you who expect to get the same look as a $1200 ringflash, move along, move along. Nothing to see here. What it does is to give you a similar look to a very large, $1200 ringflash using your on camera shoe flash. Not the same. Similar. If you think of it as much better than a shoe mount flash you’ll be happy. If you think of it as a substitute for a 24" ringflash beauty dish, you won’t.
