Sony’s A550 provides a 14.2 Mpix image on a 1.5 crop (APS-C) Sensor. The Sony Exmor CMOS image sensor combined with BIONZ processors allows images to be taken up to ISO 12,800 (in reality ISO 1600 is decent and 3200 could be used in a pinch—Roger). Unlike its big brothers, the A550 is perfectly comfortable with Live View—in fact, more than most cameras, allowing you to check autofocus in Live View on its awesome 3 inch 900,000 pixel LCD. It shoots up to 5 frames per second, has built-in face detection and HDR with Dynamic Range Optimization. It has an on-camera flash and Eye-Start Autofocus (autofocus begins when you raise the camera to your eye, not when you start pushing the shutter button) as well as the 9-Point AF Sensor with Center Cross enabling accurate focusing.

All of our cameras ship with one fully charged battery, instruction sheet, the battery charger and a bag. A lens does not come with the camera. Additionally, the software included with a new camera is copyrighted and we cannot send it with the cameras. You will need Photoshop or some type of image editing software to download and view your images.

A superb little addition to Sony’s lineup.
