For whatever reason, this lens seems to work much better in its Alpha version (where most people like it very much) than in the Canon version (where online forums are filled with arguments about it). A good bargain of a lens for crop-sensor cameras—if you just want one wide-aperture lens for those low-light times, this is a great choice: useful focal length, nice and sharp, fits in your pocket.
