The Gorillapod is a versatile mini tripod with completely articulated legs that can be bent in any way you choose: standing on a shelf or table, wrapped around a post or chair back, etc.
The extra large version is the only one we really recommend for supporting an SLR camera and it claims to support 11 pounds of total weight. We think 8 is more appropriate.
