For crop frame cameras, the Tamron 18-270 is the latest entrant in the one-lens, do-it-all superzoom category. The 15X zoom is the largest zoom range of any such lens, and at 18mm the Tamron actually covers a bit of the wide angle range. The Vibration Control system helps get sharp images at the telephoto end. The lens contains low dispersion elements to minimize chromatic aberration.
This lens competes in one of the most crowded segments of the market with the Sigma 18-200, Tamron 28-300, and Canon 18-200. To be perfectly honest there’s not a lot to differentiate them except the 18-270 provides a bit more range.
