The SLR Magic 12mm f1.6 HyperPrime is a fast aperture wide-angle lens for Micro 4/3rds users. After the Micro 4/3rds 2x crop factor, you’re looking at a 24mm f1.6. When shot wide open, subjects shot at close distances have great background separation. It has decent corner sharpness and contrast when stopped down, all while giving images that fill the frame without excessive vignetting. It’s metal barrel design gives it a solid build quality that’s usually reserved for expensive M-mount lenses, and it’s curved aperture blades stop down in a perfectly-circular form. With it’s stepless aperture ring and smooth manual focus ring, the 12mm HyperPrime makes for a video shooter’s dream lens.
Please Note: This lens provides no electronic communication to your camera. Therefore, aperture and focus distance is not recorded in the EXIF data. You will have to set, in your camera’s menu, “Shoot Without Lens” to On in order to use this lens.
