Sony A mount
Extremely large zoom range
Four-stop optical image stabilization
Fast, quiet autofocus with full-time manual override
The successor to the long-lived and legendary Bigma, the updated Sigma 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM provides one of the widest zoom ranges of any super telephoto lens we stock (or know of). Key features include:
Sony A mount: We carry this lens in multiple mounts with this one being the Sony A-mount version.
Extremely Large Focal Range. There’s not much the Sigma 50-500mm can’t cover. As long as you don’t need a wide angle, this lens has you covered.
Optical Stabilizer. (OS) lets you shoot at shutter speeds approximately four stops slower than would otherwise be possible, making this a reasonable hand-held shooting lens provided that you’re fairly strong.
Focusing. This lens incorporates a Hyper Sonic Motor system, ensuring quiet, fast autofocusing and full-time manual-focus override. It also focuses as close as 20 inches (at 200mm), allowing you to use it for pseudo-macro shots.
Sony Users. For the Sony mount, you can use this lens’s built-in OS function even when the camera body is equipped with an image-sensor shift anti-shake system. Because compensation for camera shake is visible in the viewfinder, you can easily check for accurate focus and ensure there’s no subject movement.
