The G15 is not a DSLR, but it still manages to provide many exciting features of one. It features an optically-stabilized 28-140mm (equivalent) f/1.8-2.8 lens, allowing good low light performance. It has a 12.1MP CMOS sensor, greatly reduced lag time and fast autofocus performance, and a 10fps high-speed burst mode. It has a pop-up flash to be used as a quick fill, as well as a standard ISO hotshoe for attaching external Canon Speedlites.
Of course, there is 1080P HD video recording at 24fps with stereo audio via built-in microphone and built-in HDMI output. A good alternative or addition to an SLR when you want something small and flexible to carry everywhere.
