Panasonic has released the Leica designed 14-50mm f/2.8-3.5 Leica D Vario-Elmarit Aspherical MEGA O.I.S. Lens providing a higher quality 4/3 mount zoom than we’ve previously had available. Although it is a variable aperture zoom, the f/2.8 – 3.5 maximum aperture gives you reasonably wide aperture throughout the entire zoom range. Additionally the lens provides something desperately desired by videographers and cinematographers, but hard to find in 4/3 mount, mechanical aperture control.

With 2 Aspherical lens elements to help minimize distortion at all focal lengths and 7 aperture blades that deliver smooth-looking out-of-focus areas of your photos it provides excellent image quality. Panasonic’s MEGA O.I.S. Optical Image Stabilizer helps keeping photos sharp when your camera is hand-held in low light situations.

Please Note: Due to a variety of problems we have encountered, we do not recommend using Olympus 4/3 lenses for video use with Panasonic Micro 4/3 cameras/camcorders. Rent at your own risk.
