What’s better than a tripod? A quadropod of course. The Novoflex Quadropod is a pretty neat design, based on the fact that 4 legs are actually 40% more laterally stable than three legs of the same size. It’s particularly valuable on uneven or sloping ground or in windy environments. It also provides much more twisting and sheer resistance than a standard tripod and dampens vibration more quickly.
This system consists of the A2830 aluminum 3 section legs with twist locks and combination rubber / spike feet. The QP-B standard base without center pole (since maximum stability is the point of it all, a center pole seems counterproductive). The center base contains a reversible 3/8" or 1/4" mount, so it is compatible with any head. It also has a built in leveling bubble.
The Quadrapod stands 63 inches high at the center, collapses down to 24 inches, and weighs a total of 6.4 pounds. Any of the legs can be detached and also used as a monopod.
