40 Megaray Light Field CMOS sensor
8x fast zoom lens with constant f/2 aperture
4.0-inch backlit tilting touchscreen LCD
Adjust focus and perspective after image capture
The Lytro Illum Light Field Camera is an alternative digital camera that allows post-capture focus adjustment. Key features include:
40 Megaray Light Field CMOS Sensor. The Lytro Illum Light Field Camera’s sensor features a micro-lens array on top of a CMOS sensor. This diverts the light rays to different pixels on the sensor to capture the angular variation among the rays, which translates to approximately 4MP in a standard still image. The Snapdragon 801 processor gives speedy response time considering the large amount of computation it’s handling.
8x Fast Zoom Lens. With a focal length equivalent to 30-250mm, the Illum gives you plenty of zoom range. The constant f/2 aperture enables shallow depth of field and great low-light performance.
Large Rear LCD. The 4.0-inch backlit tilting touchscreen LCD gives you a great interface for image capture and review.
What Makes This Camera Special? Like its predecessor, the Lytro Light Field Camera, the Illum lets you use the free software to adjust focus and perspective after image capture until your heart’s content, and then export a traditional 4MP JPEG image. The camera writes images to SDHC/XC memory cards.
