The Voigtlander 12mm f/5.6 Ultra-Wide Heliar III for Sony E is an extremely wide lens for Sony E-mount cameras and camcorders. Key features include:
Ultra-Wide Lens. The Voigtlander 12mm f/5.6 Ultra-Wide Heliar III is one of the widest lenses available in the Sony E mount. It gives you a 121° diagonal angle of view and is compatible with APS-C cameras, on which it’ll produce a 100° diagonal angle of view.
High-Quality Optics. A revised version of the Heliar optical design gives you twelve elements in ten groups with one aspherical element. That means the 12mm has an excellent handle on spherical aberrations and distortion throughout the aperture range. Its rounded ten-blade aperture provides pleasing bokeh, while the built-in lens hood helps eliminate lens flare and ghosting.
Manual Focus. This lens’s manual-focusing design gives you smooth, precision control over focus placement. The 12mm f/5.6 III has a 1.0-foot minimum focusing distance.
Selective Aperture Control System. The Selective Aperture Control System lets you de-click the manual aperture ring, which allows for smooth, silent exposure adjustment that’s ideal for video. You can also configure the aperture ring to use traditional 1/3-stop clicks if you want more hands-on control over exposure settings.
