Three-Axis Gimbal-Stabilized 4K Camera. The DJI Inspire 2 is a lightweight quadcopter that can shoot 5.2K RAW or ProRes to DJI CineSSD memory and simultaneously record 4K H.264 and H.265 video to MicroSD. Its photo mode offers the choice of DNG raw or JPEG images and burst shooting at up to 14 fps. The camera’s 20MP 1-inch CMOS sensor; fast mechanical and electronic shutters, and super-smooth, 3-axis stabilized gimbal ensure maximum sharpness for photo and video capture alike.

Control Options. The Inspire 2 gives you a variety of smartphone or tablet-based drone-control options. Spotlight Pro is an advanced tracking mode unique to the Inspire 2 that utilizes the drone’s 360 degree gimbal. Subjects can be tracked regardless of the direction the I2 is currently flying. In ActiveTrack Mode, you can program the drone to track an object while keeping it in frame. TapFly Mode is improved here thanks to the dedicated 2-axis onboard FPV camera and lets you tap anywhere on the screen to smoothly change direction while automatically avoiding obstacles in the drones forward path. In Return to Home Mode, the Inspire 2 will adjust its own flight path to use the best, most obstacle-free route home.

Flight Modes. The Inspire 2 includes three different flight modes, one of which is bound to suit your production’s requirements. Sport Mode (S) boosts the drone’s speed to 57 mph and substantially raises its agility. Position Mode (P) activates TapFly, Active Track, and positioning features for intelligent navigation. Altitude Mode (A) disables satellite stabilization and holds the drone steady, making it perfect for experienced pilots who want to capture smoother footage.

25 Minute Maximum Flight Time. DJI reports that in lab tests with ideal conditions (read: not the places you’ll likely be using it), this drone has a twenty five minute maximum flight time. A more realistic average is around 15 to 20 minutes dependent upon the lens mounted to the X5S. The Inspire 2 adds dual batteries to lessen the chance of a catastrophic battery failure, and a new self-heating design improves the battery life in cold temperatures.

Drone Control From 4.3 Miles. The included Inspire 2 Remote Controller simultaneously sends control signals and receives video-transmission signals at up to 4.3 miles with ideal line of sight. This controller lets you choose between 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequencies so that you can avoid interference and eliminate image lag. Again, DJI reports this as the maximum distance with ideal line-of-sight conditions, so your literal mileage may vary.

Drone Bound to the Included Remote. By default, the drone will arrive bound to the controller that’s included with this rental, so you won’t be able to use your own remote. If you have any special requests regarding controller binding, please contact us.
