Gigapan Epic 100

Gigapan Epic 100

The Epic 100 is Gigapan’s computerized panorama system: Just add your large point and shoot or small dSLR and the Gigapain Epic 100 can make incredibly detailed and complex panoramas. To capture incredible gigapixel images simply set the corners of the panorama you want to capture using the LCD interface. The built in software works out how many photos your camera will need to take, hundreds or even thousands. The EPIC 100 begins snapping the photos, automatically organizing them in overlapping rows and columns. You can capture complete 360 degree horizontal panoramas with up to 90 degrees of vertical shift.

To use this you’ll need a Macintosh or Windows computer running recent software with 2GB of RAM (you can get by with 1GB, but it will be slllloooooowwwwwww). You will need to download the GigaPan Stitch software In order to do this you will need to register and purchase teh $9.99 License Key.

The maximum camera and lens weight supported by this unit is 3 pounds. A list of compatible cameras is here. But remember: just because your camera is listed doesn’t mean it will work with your camera and a 500mm lens.
