Yes! By Teradek’s own admission, the Vidiu Go can be difficult to configure using the front display. Should the front display stop working during the course of your shoot, you can still interface with the device using the Vidiu app for iOS or Android in AP or Client mode or you can access the Web UI front a browser window by connecting to the Vidiu’s network and entering 172.16.1.1 into the URL.

Additionally, we’ve seen numerous reports of battery issues so we recommend powering the device at all times using the included AC adapter. If wall power is not available at your shooting location, we recommend renting an external power source like the Anker PowerCore+.

It will depend entirely on what resolution you have selected as your output.

Streaming in 1920×1080, the 12 Mbps output will use roughly 5.4GB each hour.

Streaming in 1280×720, the 5.3 Mbps output will use roughly 2.4GB each hour

Streaming in 960×540, the 3 Mbps output will use roughly 1.4GB each hour.

Rental orders for more than one unit can choose to allocate the 3GB-per-unit data allowance across the devices on that specific order in varying capacities without any additional charge. In other words, if you use 2.5GB of data on one device and 3.5GB on another, you’ll still be within your combined 2-unit, 6GB data cap.

Our VidiU Go 4G currently uses the Google Fi network for cellular data. You can check for coverage in your area at this link.

If you go over your included or pre-purchased amount of data, you’ll be billed at $15/GB.

The $15/GB charge may be billed during the course of the rental, soon after the rental is completed, or weeks later. Of course, if you wish to know sooner how much you owe, reach out to request an update, and we’ll pull the data usage reports for you and we’ll close the loop promptly.

Please note that while billable at $15/GB, extra data is not guaranteed: you could be subject to throttling or disrupted service at any point after you exceed your data limit.

To avoid throttling or disruption in this case, contact customer service during your rental and request to be billed for the additional data you plan to use.

If your shoot will require additional data, it can be added before your order ships at a rate of $8/GB.

Yes. Each VidiU Go 4G rental includes a Teradek Node modem and 3GB of cellular data that will allow streaming at the highest quality for roughly 30 minutes.
