The Canon EOS C300 Mark II Dual Pixel Package is a one-stop shop for most doc-style or run-and-gun shooters. The combination of the C300 Mark II and Canon 18-80mm T/4.4 Compact Servo lens gives you a high-end cinematic look, as the Shogun Inferno with included SDI cable, SSD, and mounting hardware allows you to record 4K DCI up to 29.97p in CinemaDNG, ProRes, or DNx to a high capacity 500GB drive. Do I need a certificate of insurance or a deposit to rent this item?

You’ll need a certificate of insurance or a deposit to rent this item.

Are there any known compatibility issues with the C300 Mark II?

Not all CFast cards are compatible with the C300 II. Canon recommends only the Lexar 3500x series of cards, while the 3400x series is spotty at best. And just to clarify, the 3600x series for Arri is not compatible whatsoever.
At this time, 24/30p signals will only work with the current generation SmallHD monitors. If you’re using any of our other monitors, you must set the camera to 60i/60p. If you’re using a monitor we don’t carry, you do so at your own risk.
When shooting in DCI 4K, an HDMI monitor will only show a 16 × 9 cropped image. This doesn’t impact recording.
To use an HDMI monitor with this camera, you’ll need to disable the MON. SDI port in the camera menu.
When using an external monitor while shooting in the camera’s Slow & Fast mode, be aware that the camera outputs 1080/30 (P/PsF) for frame rates 1 to 30, and 1080/60i for frame rates 31 to 60.

Are there any known third-party lens-compatibility issues with this camera?

In-house testing has confirmed that this camera will not recognize several Tamron G2 lenses. We recommend sticking with native Canon lenses if you need electronic focus or iris control for your shoot.

How long will the included batteries power this kit?

The combination of the Canon BP-A30 and Canon BP-A60 camera batteries will provide enough power for you to run the C300 Mark II for approximately 5 hours.
When using the dual battery plate, the combination of the two NP-F970 batteries will power the Shogun Inferno for approximately 3.5 hours.
Additional camera batteries and recorder batteries are available as separate rental items.

Does this rental include a tape measure hook?

We do not include a tape measure hook with the rental. However, if you need one you can request it to be sent in the special instructions box upon checkout.
