The DJI Mavic 2 Pro with Smart Controller is a compact quadrotor drone with an integrated, Hasselblad-designed, gimbal-stabilized 4K camera and is a follow-up to the popular Mavic Pro. Key features include:
10-bit Dlog-M or HDR with 20MP 4K Hasselblad camera
45 mph max speed in sport mode
31-minute flight time & up to 5 miles line-of sight control
DJI Smart Controller included
DJI + Hasselblad.DJI partnered with Hasselblad to make sure the Mavic Pro 2’s low light performance and color accuracy could stand out in a crowd. Equipped with the Hasselblad L1D-20c camera, the Mavic Pro 2 features a 1” 20MP CMOS sensor with proprietary Hasselblad imaging adapted for aerial use. This camera is capable of capturing 10-bit using Dlog-M or HDR and features an adjustable aperture range of f/2.8-f/11. If you’re a first generation Mavic Pro user, be warned, DJI did remove the DCI 4K resolution option here but with the upgraded color reproduction, we don’t think many people will miss it.
DJI Smart Controller Included. This rental includes the DJI Smart Controller which is an upgrade to the standard Mavic remote. The Smart Controller’s integrated 5.5" LCD can display a daylight viewable, HD video feed up to 60p and flight data plus it allows you to easily share and stream your footage using the SkyTalk and DJI Go Share apps. Rated for 2.5 hours of use on a single charge, DJI boasts line-of-sight drone control up to 5 miles in ideal conditions. We find that rating to be unrealistic but with the DJI OcuSync 2.0’s auto-switching technology, this drone is capable auto-detecting the strongest local signals for improved transmission reliability.
High Resolution, Stabilized Shooting. The DJI Mavic 2 Pro is a lightweight quadcopter that can shoot video in UHD 4K (3840 × 2160) at up to 30 frames per second. While shooting in 1080p, the drone has the capability of extending that up to 120 frames per second. A photo mode offers the choice of 5472 × 3648 pixel DNG raw or jpeg images, and the sharpness of the camera’s photo and video capture is maximized by DJI’s super-smooth, fully integrated 3-axis gimbal.
Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing. The Mavic 2 Pro has a new sensor array to provide obstacle sensing and avoidance on all sides. With that, DJI designed the new APAS feature to take advantage of that by automatically sensing and avoiding obstacles in the drone’s flight path with minimal input needed from the user.
Subject Tracking Modes. The gimbal offers multiple options for locking onto and easily tracking subjects like people, vehicles, and landmarks. Trajectory prediction and high-speed tracking features are both beefed up from its predecessor. Landing is simplified to a button press, returning the drone to the location where it took off from, and lowering itself delicately onto the ground.
Drone Bound to the Included Remote. By default, the drone will arrive bound to the controller that’s included with this rental, so you won’t be able to use your own remote. If you have any special requests regarding controller binding, please contact us.
