 The Zoom H4n is a portable audio recorder that has built-in microphones and records to SD cards. It operates on AA batteries, recording up to 4 channels of audio at greater than CD quality (24-bit/96kHz) to SD or SDHC cards. The H4n features X/Y stereo microphones to pick up clear, natural sound without phase shifting. The mics can be rotated to select a 90 degree or 120 degree recording pattern. In addition to the built-in mics, it also has great connectivity with 2 XLR/TRS combo input jacks, each with phantom (+48V) capability. A 3.5mm (headphone) output is provided, and also an internal speaker. The Zoom H4n offers MP3 recording and WAV at a wide variety of bitrates. With great sound quality from the built-in mics, and the option of XLR (mic input) or TRS (headphone) inputs, it works with almost every input imaginable.
