The Canon EOS 60Da is a specialty version of the original Canon 60D that has been optimized for astrophotography. Like the regular 60D it boasts an 18-Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, a 3-inch Clear View LCD, and HD video capture.
This camera is specifically designed by Canon for astrophotography. It has a modified IR cut filter that is 3-times more sensitive to hydrogen-alpha (Hα) light in the 656nm range. This allows for deeper, sharper red hues that are commonly seen in astrophotography to be recorded in images and video. If used under normal lighting conditions, you will get infrared interference in shadow areas.
Please Note: This camera is specifically designed by Canon for astrophotography. If you’re not shooting astrophotography, you most likely don’t want this camera. If used under normal lighting conditions, you will get infrared interference in shadow areas.
