![]() One of the best general purpose macro lenses, Canon’s 100mm Macro is small enough to hand hold and fast enough to work well without a flash. It also functions well as a superbly sharp short telephoto lens. A number of people use it as an alternative ‘long’ portrait lens. Roger’s Take: If you’re new to macro shooting, this is the lens to start with. It focuses quickly for a macro lens and you can usually autofocus macro shots with it pretty well.
