Zeiss ZE 100mm f/2 Makro Planar for Canon

The Zeiss 100mm Makro Planar has for many years been considered the sharpest prime lens made and is now available in Canon mount. Ridiculously expensive, and worth it, the 100mm is frequently used as a long landscape, portrait, and Macro lens. In case you aren’t aware, this is a manual focus only lens, but will adjust exposure and white balance automatically if you wish.

Roger’s Take: It doesn’t have IS and it is more difficult to manually focus this Zeiss Macro than autofocus the Canon 100 IS L Macro. So why bother? Because the ZE 100mm is two steps beyond spectacular. I’ll be honest- I’m not the best person to manually focus in the world. I blow it with this lens sometimes, but when I hit it right, the results are just spectacular not only as a Macro but as a long portrait or short telephoto lens.

Sale of Zeiss ZE lenses: We are a registered Zeiss dealer and sell new in box, fully warrantied Zeiss ZE lenses and now stock for immediate delivery in our For Sale section. If the lens is listed, a new in box copy of the lens is in stock for immediate shipment. If it is not listed, it is backordered, although we still have rental copies available.

Zeiss Try and Buy: We offer a new service with ZE lenses only. First, rent any ZE lens for 4 days. Then if you decide you want to buy it, we will apply your 4 day rental fee to the purchase of a brand new copy at our listed price. (Note: this is not your used rental copy. You will be buying a new lens.)
