Durable, all-metal cinema housing
Fully manual aperture and focus
Great low-light capture
High-quality optical design
The Tokina Cinema 16-28mm T3.0 EF is a rehoused cinema lens designed for full-frame cameras with the Canon EF mount. Key features include:
All-Metal Cinema Housing. Tokina has taken the popular Tokina 16-28mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro FX for Canon and stripped it down to its optics. From there, it’s constructed in an all-metal housing with standard 0.8 pitch geared focus, aperture, and zoom rings.
Fully Manual Lens. This is a fully manual cinema lens that provides no electronic communication with the camera. You must manually make all aperture and focus adjustments on the lens itself, and lens information is not transferred through EXIF data.
Wide-Angle Zoom. With a focal length roughly equivalent to 16-28mm, the Tokina Cinema 16-28mm T3.0 EF is arguably one of the best wide-angle zoom options. Its fast T3.0 aperture enables low-light capture and subject/background separation.
High-Quality Optics. This cinema version features the same high-quality optics as the 16-28 f/2.8 FX and is a wide-angle, wide-aperture alternative lens for full-frame cameras. It has fifteen elements in thirteen groups, using aspherical and Super Low-Dispersion glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration and provide maximum resolution. Tokina has tweaked the design to allow the lens to be parfocal and optimized it for 4K video capture.
