Canon 600mm f/4L IS II

Available Today

The Canon 600mm f4L IS II is a member of the second-generation of Canon L-series super telephoto lenses, taking what the original Canon 600mm f4L IS had to offer and making improvements across the board. Canon has redesigned the optical construction, improving image sharpness, reducing flare and ghosting, and fluorine-coating the front and rear elements to resist water and smudges.

Perhaps the biggest improvement is the weight reduction, shaving 3lbs from the previous version. Canon also included the 4-stop, 3-mode Image Stabilization and video-enabled Power Focus mode, which is basically a built-in electronic follow focus.

Like I told my wife, “It ain’t the jeans that make your butt look fat”. Canon took it to heart when people complained the old 600 f/4 IS was too have. This lens is 3lbs lighter! How much lighter? 3 POUNDS LIGHTER! That’s a 26.7% weight decrease. I’ll be the first to admit, under no circumstances will I carry the original Canon 600mm f4L IS further than the trunk of my car to shoot anything. All I’m saying is watch out things that can’t see me from a distance, cause I’ll be seeing you, without being tired and grouchy from carrying an overweight lens that is!
