The Akurat MIX3 On-Camera LED Light is a compact, powerful, color-mixable LED light source. Key features include:
Color Mixing. With positions for both daylight (5600ºK) and tungsten (3200ºK), as well as a mixing knob for anything in between, the MIX3 is ideal for shooting video or stills in mixed lighting on the go.
High-Output LED. The MIX3’s 40 surface-mounted LEDs offer an output of up to 1,200 lumens at 2 feet with a beam angle of 120º. While the light falloff is fairly abrupt, with over a 50% decrease in output at 3.25 feet, the MIX3 is designed as an on-camera fill for use at close distances.
Battery Powered. Our MIX3 has the Sony L-series battery plate installed, and the rental includes one Hawk-Woods DV-F790 L-Series Battery and charger. You’ll see roughly 2.5 hours of use per battery, so plan ahead.
Build. The durable anodized aluminum body is well-equipped to withstand harsh conditions, such as high humidity and extreme temperatures. Being an LED light source, the unit itself produces much less heat than typical on-camera lights. The attached articulating hot shoe mount lets you aim the light, and there’s a 1/4-20" thread on the bottom of the unit in case there’s no hot shoe available.
