The B&W 52mm UV Black (403) Filter is a specialty filter we carry for use with Coastal Optics UV-VIS-IR 60mm Macro for Nikon. Key features include:
Not A Standard UV Filter. If you stumbled upon this filter looking for a UV protective filter, this is not the filter for you. In fact, this is the complete opposite of what you want.
UV A Passing Filter. Enables only UV A radiation within 320-385nm to pass, effectively blocking all other wavelengths of light. This is used specifically for forensic photography, material research, and fluorescence photography. Additionally, it can make for some interesting fine art photography.
Very Dark Filter. If you hold it up and look through it, you’ll see nothing but black since it blocks all visible light. Depending on applications and materials being used, the filter factor ranges from 8 to 20 (3 to 4.3 stops). Basically, chances are you’re not going to be hand-holding anything.
