![]() Nikon’s newest top-of-the-line crop sensor camera, the D300s features 24fps, 720p HD (1280 × 720) movie clips, enhanced by stereo mic input and AF operation. As a still camera it features a 12.3 megapixel image sensor, dual slots for both CompactFlash and SD/SDHC memory cards, and a 920,000 dot monitor 3 inch LCD monitor. It also has a 51-point autofocus system, 100% viewfinder accuracy, 7 frames per second continuous shooting, and low light sensitivity expandable to ISO 6400 ( Lets be clear: it can shoot at ISO 6400. You may not want to print the shots at ISO 6400. But 3200 is a go! – Roger ) It also has one-button Handheld and Tripod Live View modes, in-camera image editing, and active D-lighting (optimizing shadow and highlight for high contrast images). Roger’s take: A nice, although incremental upgrade to the D300, which is an excellent camera. You get video capability, of course, and a bit better high ISO performance. Otherwise it is very, very similar to the D300. In other words, I don’t think I’d rush out to sell my D300 to buy this, but if I didn’t already have a D300, I’d buy this in a heartbeat. PLEASE NOTE: because of copyright regulations we cannot send the Nikon software with the camera. In case you need them:
