This lens is an ultra-wide, Perspective Control (PC) lens featuring tilt of 8.5 degrees, 11.5mm shift and rotation capability of 90 degrees allowing complete perspective control. It is perfect for architectural and nature photography, and with 3 ED glass elements and Nano Crystal Coat its amazingly sharp and flare resistant. Probably no new Nikkor lens has generated more excitement than this one.

But mastering a perspective control lens is not something that can be accomplished in an hour or two. If you don’t have experience with this type of lens, you’ll need a day or two with the manual to practice before tackling an important assignment.

IMPORTANT NOTE Our associates at Diglloyd have pointed out an important point when using the Nikon PC-E lenses – the shift-lock knob MUST be locked down before focusing the shot: otherwise there is a bit of sag at the shift plate that will allow the lens to be out of alignment as discussed here.
