Pantone Huey Colorimeter
The Pantone Huey colorimeter and software for monitor calibration. It is an easy way to correct the color on your monitor so photos and designs are viewed more accurately. Easy-to-use right out of the box, Huey adapts your monitor for changing room lighting and applies your personal preferences for viewing accurate color all of the time. The included software works with Mac OS X, Windows XP and Windows 2000.
Note: this is a MONITOR calibration system only, it does NOT calibrate your monitor and printer.
Roger’s take: The strength of this little device is its quick and easy: you get a fairly accurately calibrated monitor in 10 minutes or so. It works well on LCD monitors, I haven’t tried it on CRTs (cause I don’t have any CRTs). Sometimes the device needs to be angled on the screen, not just placed vertically (if your calibrations show a green cast, try angling it).
Bottom line – this is NOT what you want if you want complete correlation of your monitor to your printed output, that requires a much more complex and expensive device, and a lot more time to accomplish. This is a great way to get “pretty accurate” calibration in a few minutes.
