The Pentax SMC DA* 300mm f/4 ED SDM is a high performance telephoto lens that is designed specifically for Pentax APS-C DSLRs. Its combination of a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 450mm and f/4 aperture make it a great choice for sports and wildlife shooters. By utilizing two extra-low dispersion ED elements, the DA* 300mm has minimal optical aberrations with high resolving power.
As one of Pentax’s DA*-series lenses, the 300mm f/4 has several key features that set it part from many other lenses. Since it’s designed for crop-frame APS-C sized sensors, it offers a reduced physical size and weight. It features DA*-series’ standard fully weather-sealed build, with Pentax’s SP-coating for a dust and water resistant front element. Also DA* standard is the SDM Focus System, which provides smooth, quiet autofocusing via the supersonic autofocus motor drive.
